Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for developing, utilizing and maintaining test cases and plans. They will participate in all phases of the project, from review of requirements and design to final system testing and launch.

Responsibilities:

- In area(s) of product or technology expertise, work closely with developers to discuss all possible areas for testing and to contribute to design discussions for those functions

- Develop thorough test plans and cases for multiple product functional areas, sometimes working with limited design information

- Thoroughly document test results (via detailed problem descriptions and complete test reports) to high level of standards of certification (FDA, ISO9000)

- Work independently to run functional, installation, and use case test cases

- As needed create, enhance, and maintain automated test scripts using Rational Functional Tester to automate existing manuals test

- Clearly communicate testing status on a regular basis, and help to determine critical path decisions

- Apply and improve department and corporate processes, procedures, and standards

- Work cooperatively on a team to achieve project, department, and company objectives

- Apply good QA practices to the validation of multiple feature areas in multiple products

- Learn and successfully apply new knowledge of features, technologies, and processes.

- Mentor test team members on areas of technology, product, or processes and assist test lead in leading team or establishing test environments.

- As needed, serve in a Lead role capacity on smaller projects and releases.

Qualifications:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer we seek will have the ability to work methodically in a fast paced, time sensitive environment and have the ability to multi task with minimal supervision, and be self motivated with strong initiative. This position also requires good verbal and written communication skills, consistent attention to detail, an aptitude for problem solving and learning new concepts quickly. Must work well with others to achieve on-time, quality product releases that meet customers' needs. Must have experience in using, writing, and testing in XML and using defect tracking systems.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred. Must have at least 4 years experience in the software testing field, 3 years experience developing software test cases and plans, minimum of 2 years working with multi-tier internet applications and 1 year experience with QA test project leading. Must have some familiarity with Microsoft tools, and an understanding of .NET technologies. Have knowledge of ISO Standards and/or GCP Validation Guidelines (IQ, OQ, PQ).
